People in Jesus' day made up fake "God-rules" which they made others adhere to. These pretend god-fearing people made others obey what they themselves didn't. When Jesus broke one of their fake "God-rules," they went berserk. They were so furious that anyone would dare talk down to them and that anyone would dare challenge their ways and their leadership.
