From Enemies to Family (Gospel Life Series: Episode 5 of 16)
Romans 5 doesn’t just explain salvation — it secures it.
“Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The war is over. Not because you improved, but because Christ intervened.
And if you ever question whether God really loves you, Paul answers it head-on: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” The cross is not sentimental — it is decisive. God did not wait for you to become worthy. He moved toward you when you were weak, ungodly, and running the other way.
Then Paul goes even bigger. Sin entered through one man, and death spread to all. But through one Man — Jesus Christ — grace now reigns. Not barely. Not narrowly. “Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.” Sin had a throne. Grace took it.
Romans 5 is about assurance. Peace secured. Love demonstrated. Grace reigning. If you’ve ever wrestled with guilt, fear, or whether you’ll make it to the end, this chapter anchors your soul.
